Deadlines
This is the time of year when I realize just how much crafting I need to get done before the holidays and swear that next year I will start earlier. Yesterday SG took charge of baby bejos and let me focus on crafty things all day long! I was giddy with the possibilities....
I cannot, obviously, show the actual products because too many recipients may be reading this right now!
So, how about some footage of the child instead.

I found a feature on my camera that produced some fun results with color. Here is baby bejos trying to inch his way off the changing table. Crawling may be in our very near future. Eek!
one of my New Year's Resolution is to get better at this whole filming/editing thing since so many of you are so far away and the requests for live footage are numerous

Self Image
How totally out-of-body it must be to see yourself for the first time.
In other news we just got our 6 month stats...15lbs, 27.5" long, one long skinny boy!

Memorial
My grandfather, whom we called Papi, passed away on November 1, 2010. My aunt held a memorial service for him last week in the home where he spent his last few years, and I was lucky enough to be able to make the journey down to be there with some of the family. It was the first time they all get to meet E, which made it all that more special.

New Mexico
There is nothing like a vacation to feel a little better about life, except maybe a vacation with your BFF, or a vacation with your BFF who has yet to meet your newest family member. Needless to say it was a great weekend of food, walks, songs and rhymes, fall colors and some more food.
The three of us (KT, SG & Auntie A) all have a pension for good food, and NM holds a special place in our hearts for its unique flavor profile (tehehhe). There was Cafe Pasqual's, Java Joe's, pizza from the Neighborhood Bakery, the crepes at the French bakery, the biscochitos, the HUGE Mexican market cafeteria...You can see why the walks were a necessity after all that eating.

flavors of fall
A few weeks ago the item of the week on our daily menu was peaches. This week?...pumpkin. As part of our pumpkin carving party I made all things pumpkin which entailed opening many a can of canned pumpkin ( yes, I did not take the time to bake and scrape a real pumpkin). In addition to the pumpkin tamales I wrote about earlier, here's a tour of creations from la cocina bejos.
pumpkin-coconut soup
Mexican pumpkin "lasagna"
pumpkin chocolate chip scones

Yum...and now off to the gym!
