Celebrating the Seder

We had the pleasure of joining our friends for their seder celebration this week. We did the "fast track" version but had all other mandatory elements, even the gefilte fish.

Family visits

The next couple of months in the Bejos life is filled with visitors. The first on the list is my brother and his family. His little guy is 10 months older than baby bejos, and they are enjoying getting to know one another. A whole lotta "mine" and navigating possessions, but also a whole lotta fascination from my little guy to his big cousin.

Today's outing was Walnut Canyon

with a whole lotta stairs

Greener Pastures

For years Mr. Bejos has been trying to convince me to let him grow grass in our side yard. Most recently he plays on my emotions by painting a picture of allowing baby bejos to feel the grass between his toes, and plays to my practical side of avoiding the dirty dirty knees of every outfit the baby wears outside to play in. So, this weekend he picked up a lovely native blend of drought tolerant grasses that he is experimenting with. One or two patches at a time...we'll see how this goes.

As you can see he had lots of help

11 months

So close to the one year mark, I can hardly believe it. Although he has mastered speed crawling, baby bejos spends most of his waking hours upright, testing out the strength of his scrawny little legs. One of these days he will build up enough courage to let go and stand on his own.
And then to take one step.
And then another.
And then pick up speed.
It exhausts me just thinking about it.

Crazy for Coco Puffs

Baby Bejos is having a major eating spurt that concerns me about the potential spike in our household food bill during the teenage years. Not only can he house an adult size portion of homemade bread - for which he will avoid all other foods until he gets his slice - but he is eating almost 2 bowlfuls of his usual fare.
And then we introduced Cheerios...which somehow feels like a milestone of some kind. Sigh
