Home Improvements

The kitchen is about to undergo a little facelift in the next few weeks, thanks in part to the help of mama and papa bejos who are heading our way for an extended visit.

In preparation we are sanding down the cabinets. Off with the purple paint...

A mini holiday

We took a roadtrip to Jerome this weekend to bid farewell to Nanny Kat, who is heading back east.

We tossed coins into a random abandon building - we mocked the people wasting their time and coins on this endeavor, until we tried it. Our pockets were emptied before we actually tired of the past time.

Hung out in Caduceus Cellars, the winery owned by Maynard James Keenan of Tool. 

and ate a fabulous breakfast burrito at Quince. 

Funny how one day can feel like an entire vacation.

Best intentions

Birthday plans for baby bejos were  foiled this weekend. Instead of entertaining friends Saturday afternoon he spent the day sleeping and fight a fever.

Baby bejos has never been a cuddly little boy who wants to be held and snuggled tight - he is way too busy for that. So, although he wasn't in his best form we did relish the snuggles and naps in our arms, and the memories of napping with a sleeping newborn just one short year ago.

By Sunday evening he did rally for a small birthday celebration with the quintessential baby smash cake picture opportunity. And thank goodness, because we can only eat so many cupcakes!

And then, before we knew it, we witnessed a few glimpses of the usual baby bejos.
