Now it's summer!

Rain

Each day we watch the clouds build until they dump bucketfuls of rain and hail, bringing with them the welcome relief of a cool breeze and the drop of the mercury.

Every now and then the storms are so mighty that we find ourselves trapped in the car until we can stand to brave the elements. 

And other times we are already nestled in at home, able to rescue the abandoned toys left in the yard in the moments just before the skies open up. Sometimes it's so much of an emergency that a certain boy has no time to worry about getting dressed - except, of course, the required footwear for a summer romp in the rain.

Lately

A whole lotta summer activity around here. Another new park, walks in the woods that are speckled with yellow blooms, learning how to vacuum, his first theater going experience, and a trip to the butterfly exhibit at the Arboretum.

Summer

We welcomed the first day of summer, and it was a hot one, with slip-n-slide and popsicles. 

done and done

 Mr Bejos knocked off another playground with the boys.

We made a cookie cake,

and headed to the mountain to log a couple of miles in the woods.

Last, but certainly not least, I made a batch of jalapeño margaritas, from my own personal bucket list,  that were outstanding.
