Happy Halloween

The eldest was kind enough to choose to be a cheetah once again, although he insists this year that he too is a leopard like the little once.
OK.

Desert

After my return from New Mexico we packed up the family truck and headed south for some desert camping. It was a change from our normal Tucson routine - except for the food, oh my the Tucson food, we did hit a couple of our favorites.

A hot desert hike did reward us with pools, ok puddles, of water to splash in, and an up close glimpse of a beautiful hawk.

The washes were filled with mica, which entertained the boys for a good long time. It also prompted the littlest one to begin his own "collection", just like his big brother. At home it did cause a few problems, mostly that he wanted his jar to be filled, right now, just like big brother's. Some rocks may or may not have made their way from one collection jar to the other.

Santa Fe Reunion

These lovely ladies make up my high school posse, and yet it has been close to decades perhaps, since we have all been in the same place at the same time. I already forget just how the arrangements started a couple months back, maybe when we were lamenting about missing each other yet again this summer, but we made this reunion happen.
A perfect fall weekend in Santa Fe, NM. Our days spent window shopping, thrifting, walking, and hiking while our evenings involved food, wine, mix tapes yes, mix tapes, and the hot tub.

yeah, yeah, I know

It's been a long time, and I have no good excuses. So let's just carry on, with a quick look at what you've missed at Casa Bejos, and I'll do my best to visit a little more often.

The cast came off.

The eldest and I went on a river trip. He rocked it as the only kid in the trip, learning all sorts of skills including can crushing with a rubber mallet. True life skills.

This guy. Remember his first taste of this summer treat?
