Just like the year he was born, we get to celebrate his birthday and Mother's Day all in the same weekend.

bathroom saga

Brother Bejos agreed, many months ago, to come to AZ and finally complete the bathroom redo that has been on our list since, well, since we moved into the house 8 years ago. We talked about it 3 years ago, but then we had a baby, and ripping up our only bathroom with a newborn baby seemed a bit more than I was willing to handle.

In our FaceTime meetings, which took place in this very mini bathroom, brother bejos and I decided that despite our best efforts this would be a cosmetic remodel. No fancy renovations, just new tile and a coat of paint.

This is our first trip to the hardware store - back when we were grossly unaware of what we were about to get into.

Friday night

I know, it's been waaaay too long. I have excuses, most of which have to do with a bathroom remodel.

In the meantime enjoy these pics the way these boys enjoyed their ice cream. A total moment of weak parenting when momma is just too tired to say no. More sprinkles? Sure!

Three

Our baby is three. 

Three! 

He is a stubborn mule with a charming smile. 

He loves music.

He knows how to get under his brother's skin.

His palate is limited, to say the least. 

He can finally make a basket on the bball hoop. 

He still takes his shoes off in the car. 

He knows how to delay bedtime.

His favorite number is 5.

Haircuts are still an ordeal.

A dentist is yet to see the inside of his mouth.

Fossil Creek

Today Mr Bejos joined us for an adventure that involved a lot of miles on a washboard dirt road, but ended in a desert oasis of the bluest spring water around. 

Oh desert, how I love thee. St. Patrick's day in a cold creek, on a hot day, with a Mexican beer.
