Before the arm incident, summer activities had resumed. This day was a good one. Another playground for our bucket list, on the same day that the city hosted some kind of "event" that included buckets of water.
And then the new donut shop. It's not like any other place I had been to before. One starts with a menu similar to that you would find in a sushi restaurant. A long, long list of topping choices that is overwhelming to this mama who like a good old fashion cinnamon and sugar cake donut.
Customers have a front row seat to the donut making process; from the dough dropping into hot oil, bobbing along a conveyor belt, to being hand dipped and packed, still hot, into a box.
The entire way home, as in every 28 seconds, the littlest guy asked "mama, is my donut still hot". And by the time we got home I was able to, deep breathe, answer "no" and serve it up.
