It's been a rainy week here in our hometown.

Draft
It's that time of year. The time of year that I lose my husband to his other love, the one that entertains him and calls upon his inner sportscaster.
Fantasy Football.
His first draft, and he has a couple, was done with the help of our eldest. The training is beginning already, although I'm not sure how helpful he really was. He did have a surprising amount of vocabulary that surprised us both. "Linebacker daddy, linebacker".
While I would like to complain about the hours lost to tv viewing and on-line stat checking, I am reminded often, by Mr. Bejos, of the two wins in recent years that he can lay claim to. They were not insignificant wins and he does share the winnings, even if last year's payout went to medical bills.

B-ball
I'm not sure who is more excited about this super cheap Craigslist find; bejos boy or Mr. Bejos. Either way the little guy is getting the hang of it quickly.
Dribble, dribble, shoot.

Neglect
I'm back to work.
Ugh,
pity party,
sigh,
deep breathe,
carry on.
Our back to school schedule was a bit wonky around here. I started back to school, Mr. Bejos was at work, but school hadn't started for bejos boy. We desperately needed reinforcements and so we invited Mama and Papa Bejos to help us out. Sounds like a great deal, right? They get the boys, household tasks and the job of feeding us all while all we do is go to work.
Well Mama and Papa have come and gone. We lost our "rental house" this year and had to do a bit of scrambling to make housing arrangements. It was a fruitless search and we decided upon bunking up together during the week and finding reprieve in a hotel room over the weekend. For those of you who know our humble home, you know just how cozy this arrangement is. The four of us in our small "master" bedroom and mama & papa in the boys' room. Surprisingly it ended up working out just fine, better, in fact, than you would imagine. Mornings were leisurely for those who didn't have to dress and go to work, and those of us who did go to work came home to a clean stocked home and dinner cooking. The weekend provided us with a pool to relax in. Score and score.
Papa busied himself with our long delayed house painting project...a project we have been talking about since I was preggo with the first bejos boy. While he didn't finish the HUGE task, and certainly not from any lack of gusto for he is a hard working individual, he did give us the kick on the pants to get moving and create a to-do list with a generous timeline. In his downtime he and bejos boy snuggled on the couch watching movies. He even celebrated a birthday with us on their last day here. Don't worry, we gave him the day off from painting :)
Mama was super nanny, trying to get bejos baby to eat and nap at regular intervals. For a baby who has been by my side for four months, with the occasional bottle, this was no small task. Mama and baby bejos negotiated the routine day by day and I always came home to big smiles. In her "downtime", Mama weeded, gardened, sewed, baked, cooked and cleaned. She too never stops.
A few other highlights of our hiatus from blogging: Baby bejos can now roll over in both directions, bejos boy started pre-school, we are debating over house trim colors,mr. bejos made a trip to Tahoe, and it has rained a whole lot. Here is a very random photo dump.

I will, in coming weeks, try to get back on track with more semi-regular postings. I need to work out an issue with storage on my computer and then all's a go. I haven't forgotten about the long ago started, and yet unfinished, NY vacation pic series either.
Hugs!

4 months
Oh baby bejos, your giggle is infectious.
If you weren't so darn cute I would spend more time dwelling on the fact that you have suddenly become the world's worst nighttime sleeper.

vacation recap, part 4
The farmhouse.
These pics are pre move-in day. The house is now teeming with busy activity and no doubt feeling just like home.
