Entomologist
Some one has recently decided that when he grows up he wants to study bugs, or maybe mighty machines.

And now he's FIVE!

Soccer Mom
This is typically the time of year that is sports free in our life. Besides a few NBA finals games, mr bejos takes this season off, a respite that lasts until that first kickoff of the season.
Until micro season started.
That's right, I'm now a soccer mom. Don't worry, I haven't gone out to buy a mini van, or applied vinyl decals of the bejos 4 on the car window...not yet.

Spring
I love springtime. The blooms make me smile. This guy does too, especially as he mimics me taking pictures. Believe it or not I did not make him pose for this impromptu photo shoot. He was perched up on the wall, examining the blooms and calling out to neighbors as they passed by. I just documented the afternoon's activity.

the hill
Bejos boy loves to accompany me to the Country Store for any and every errand we run there. He gears up with his helmet and bike, anxious to go down the hill. It's not a huge hill, but it still makes me nervous every time.
I have this fear that I will film an adventure ride like this one day that involves a head over handlebars incident. It is bound to happen, whether I film it or not, but please, please not on my watch. His real desire is the other hill, that huge hill to the left. One time, when I was feeling a bit more adventurous, he and I stood atop the hill but then both chickened out. The view from the top was a much steeper angle than both of us had first thought.

On writing: motorcycles
February 28, 2014
He's falling in the water with his motorcycle. He went over the log.
Pretty straight forward. My favorite part is the picture. Check out the shoes on this rugged outdoorsman who jumps logs and rides dangerously close to bodies of water.

On Writing
Bejos boy is three. He is not yet writing, or reading, although he did bring home his first sound booklet, which made this Montessori mama beam with pride. In Montessori we teach kiddos the sounds letters make before we teach them the names of the letters...say what??
So instead of "mama, is this an S?" it's "is this a ssss?"
Today he came home with his first piece of writing. Dictated to a teacher, the words were prompted by the glued on picture of ocean water. We almost peed our pants laughing. It is so very bejos boy. This one is getting framed and will be a reminder of these early years.
Water. Some water is cold. Some motor boats are fast. There are whales. I like trees. These shoes are fast. And leaves. And letters. efg write the abc.

Greenstick
Know that song "no more monkeys jumping on the bed"?
Apparently bejos boy has a thing about birthdays and the ER. The last time we were here it was mr. bejos' birthday. While today isn't my birthday it is just a few days around the corner.
All's well though. It's a "greenstick" fracture. He will get a real cast sometime this coming week but for now it's a splint, sling, and no playground. Yeah right...good luck with that!

B-ball
I'm not sure who is more excited about this super cheap Craigslist find; bejos boy or Mr. Bejos. Either way the little guy is getting the hang of it quickly.
Dribble, dribble, shoot.
Dribble, dribble, shoot.

first day, last day
Yesterday was bejos boy's last day of school.
He had a great year, learning a whole lot, the least of which is an extensive vocabulary that surprises us almost every day. I can't even believe the difference when I look at these pictures.
And the hair! It has been a bit of concern for us, his thinning hair. It is however, coming back and I do hope he regains the head of hair he had as a two year old.
And now I start the role of "mother of two", alone with with my boys for summer days. With the amount of logistics it takes to get the boys in and out of the car I venture to say that we won't venture too far from home too often. The pool, the library, the park, but most likely not Target or the grocery store.
Happy Summer!

Rain gear
Bejos boy was more than excited to test out another birthday present in our recent drizzly rains. He burst in from school, ran for his umbrella and coat, and headed out for the rain.
