Harvest

Our mammoth sunflower garden suffered some damage this weekend from a few heavy rainstorms we endured. Then again it was a dense forest of flowers and perhaps their weight alone caused their collapse.

Nevertheless I had to do what essentially amounts to a timber harvest. The job would have been made easier with a machete, but I hacked away with a pair of craft scissors. Silly really.

My arms are still itchy and red with rash, but the bouquets will hopefully bloom beautifully for days. Some for us, some for friends, and a few for our classrooms.

summer rewind: Tour Bus

We arrived in NY late at night and had to divide and conquer; you deal with car rental, I'll get the kids in pjs. It was while wrestling kiddos into pjs, in a very small bathroom, that Mr Bejos knocked to ask a very important question. "Economy car or Ford Transit!?"

As I have mentioned before, we are not a mini van family. Mr Bejos, however, would like to change that status for the Bejos clan and occasionally digs deep into a research mission on the best possible vehicle. For some reason the Ford Transit caught his eye.

With something akin to giddiness, we chose the roomy Transit, dubbed it the tour bus, and set off on our own summer tour.

It was a fun vehicle that we stuffed full of everything from boys to kayaks, made runs to a number of airports, and set off on many an adventure. And, for the meantime, Mr Bejos' curiosity is satiated.

School!

While many of you are thick in the middle of summer, school has started here in AZ.

A kindergartener this year!

All hands on deck

The grandmothers are in town, helping with our back-to-school transition. The boys are over the moon with all the extra love, attention, and treats.

We took them drinking at Page Springs Cellars and then played in the creek.

Home

Although we were welcomed with nothing but smiles, and treated like royaly on every leg of our trip, we are oh so glad to be home.

Ice Cream 2015

Don't be alarmed when you see the next ice cream cone.
It does not have rainbow sprinkles.
It is not a chocolate-vanilla swirl.
It is, however, some of the very best ice cream around, ever. For real.
