Traveling

We spent our weekend out of town for my BFF's wedding. My camera crapped out while trying to upload my pics to the computer (I'm working on a recovery strategy) so I don't have any pics of that to post yet....but I do have a few showing a few things we did in our down time with the bejos boy.

Play dates with lots of new friends and chickens.

The Denver Children's Museum. There was a room filled with bubble making, a kid-sized grocery store and he went straight for the choo-choos. Shocking.

And then we discovered the fire truck.
He is a wonderful travel partner

A quiet hour

Every now and then we find that we need just a few moments to get things done.
This particular afternoon we hit the jackpot.
He was utterly engrossed for an entire hour!

girly things

Bear with me me as I venture into a realm I don't often visit, to tell you a funny story.

As a girl I was obsessed with make-up. When I stayed home "sick" from school I would hope and pray that there was a makeover bit on one of the daytime talk shows. Teach me how to apply blue eye shadow you '90s hosts of daytime talk....Sally Jessy, Phil, Oprah.

And then I entered a phase of my life where make-up just didn't matter. I mean seriously, until I got married 4 years ago I was carrying around the make-up I wore to prom. No joke! So when I read a blog post in which the writer overhears a stylish older woman talking about her go-to lip color, I thought, Perfect!, sign me up because I need a place to start.

Off to Target I went where I was utterly overwhelmed by the shades of lipstick, stain, and gloss. But no problem because all I needed was a tube of Revlon's Love That Pink. Except that doubt crept in because the shade seemed a little too pink? orange? and not quite right. Throwing caution to the wind, and completely confident in my choice I marched to the checkout and payed for the oh-so-wrong color. The reflection in the car's rear view mirror confirmed the doubt.

Luckily Target has a very generous return policy and I was able to recoup my losses and choose a better shade that is so very....well here, see yourself:

I know what you are thinking.
How daring!
How perfect a shade!
Is she really wearing lipstick???

I settled on Revlon's Smoky Rose which is probably related to a dormant childhood memory of my first "big girl" bike called the Dusty Rose. I have truly come full circle from my 90s self.

puzzle

My dad and I have a similar attraction to puzzles. Or, as our spouses would categorize it, an obsession with the completion of a puzzle. This summer my dad and I endured a marathon trying to complete a puzzle, to the exclusion of interacting with the rest of the household. Yes, we are both get that involved in projects. Mr bejos would even go as far to say that we get the same look while concentrating on the task at hand. Something about a scowl that crosses the face with a tongue poking out.

I got this puzzle for Christmas from, you guessed it...my dad. We have no extra room in home but I did want to complete this bad boy. So I cleared off the kitchen table and gave myself a weekend, no longer, to complete it.

 ta da!
and because he does everything we do, little bejos took on his own challenge
