back in time

As I mentioned this weekend, we have been a tad bit preoccupied with life, trying to keep our heads above water. I have been meaning to purge Mr. Bejos' camera of videos and pics from our journey back east and have only just gotten around to it. *Sigh*

So, without further ado, here begins a series of posts that are long overdue.

We start with bejos boy's best trick of the summer.

Day one at Nana & Grandpa's pool I could hardly wrestle this squirmy boy into his muscular swimming onsie that we dug up out of the depths of the basement. He wasn't having it.

Day two he would allow me to put him in the suit but would cling onto any available adult and, occasionally, the side of the pool.

Day three, however, was a whole new story.

lately

Good friends constructed a pizza oven in their backyard this summer. It could not, however, be used until the fire ban was lifted for the state of Arizona. They did have a visit from the local fire department during the the fire ban while they were doing a "seasoning" burn in the oven. Oops! Thanks to the monsoon rains of the southwest the oven is now officially, and legally, open for business.

it's been busy here

My first week of school was exhausting to say the least.
So many names to learn.
So many new school rules and procedures.
Early hours. Late hours.
I cannot wait to be six weeks into the school year and just feel settled.

Needless to say my personal life has gone a bit neglected (and so too this blog). Meals have been few and far between, the gym is a place I may not recognize anymore. Luckily I have been able to count on Mr. Bejos to keep things under control on the home front. He prepared the few meals I ate and tolerated my ridiculous roller coaster ride of emotions. But, most importantly, he was in the driver's seat for bejos boy's first days of school. Granted, it is pre preschool, but we were all a little emotional to say the least.

the farmhouse

Brother bejos is renovating a farmhouse.
Lots of potential.
Lots of work.
Lots of fun.

sweet treats

The very first ice cream of my ice cream season was a bit of a disappointment not because it wasn't good but because I ended up with a vanilla, not twist, soft serve with rainbow sprinkles. This is my attempt at looking really, really sad.
and now bejos boy has a new favorite food
