Casting Off

I got bit by the knitting bug a few months ago and have been churning out projects left and right. This is not always the case, so I'm glad to be more productive than usual. This sweater and hat combo was for a little guy born just over a week ago. The hat was supposed to be a preemie hat but it was still much too big. Of course it could have something to do with my gauge. I'm a careless knitter.  I never check my gauge. I often end up knitting and re-knitting projects for this very reason.
The color of the hat is distorted, looking more red than the grey it is. I found the hat pattern via Pinterest, it can be found here. I modified it a bit by adding the snaps to pin up the ear flaps because I knew it would be too big. The sweater is the same pattern I wrote about here.

drive-thru

So much for a speedy recovery.
Our weekend ick turned into a weeklong ick, and counting.
An eventual visit to the doctor's office identified an ear and upper respiratory infection.
Luckily this guy is a good patient.

But it isn't all doom and gloom around here. The little bejos  is back to his usual self playing drive-thru?? Where do they get this stuff? I can almost guarentee that this little guy hasn't been thru a drive-thru since he was a mere 2? 3? months old and his desperate new mom desperately needed caffeine but couldn't bear taking him out and putting him back into his car seat while holding the precious cup of hot coffee. Maybe it was straight out of his imagination and a matter of pure convenience that the dump truck stopped off for a bite of mid-morning snack.

The fever ick

Our weekend didn't go exactly as planned.
The fever ick set in on little bejos.
A nasty cough,
a fever that wouldn't break
and a particularly sensitive disposition.
One minute his usual spastic self, the next a whining toddler, and then a bundle of tears.

It's days like these that break our typical parenting rules. More Thomas the Train? Sure! Another Elmo episode, no problem! At whit's end we tried anything and everything. This morning we experimented with the computer camera

Here's hoping to a healthy and speedy recover!

Urban Outing

Downtown hosted an urban snowboard event in the streets this weekend. Our warm winter didn't make the event an especially exciting one. Even though the putter-on-of-events carted snow from the mountain, the course was more like a powdered ice rink with a series of snowboarding obstacles.

You Are Here

My boys got this for Valentine's Day yesterday.
http://www.etsy.com/listing/59990874/you-are-here-hand-printed-letterpress
Right now it hangs in the bathroom as I have an evolving vision until we do a complete renovation...someday. It involves body pieces. Say what?! That's right. An ear, a butt (tehehe), a foot, etc.
Stay tuned.

Have I mentioned that my little bejos says "love you" now. Melt my heart....
