I traveled without a single snack, not a toy, and just one little bag. Oh it has been so long since I traveled alone. Here I thought I would have luxurious hours to spend thumbing through a magazine while sipping on a fancy Starbucks concoction, but my airline failed me and I instead ran a 50 yard dash to make my flight just in time.

Getaway
This mama got away last weekend, thanks to a cousin's wedding out on the west coast. I was the date for Mama Bejos, and although I missed my boys, I had a great time.

Renewal
Last November Mama and Papa Bejos celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Being a family spread far and wide we weren't able to be there, so we planned a little surprise this summer. A surprise as in they would never expect an anniversary party 8 months after the fact, and a surprise in that we planned for them to renew their vows. Surprise!
The night before the party a few of us went "out on the town", or so Mama and Papa thought, and prepped for the affair.
The following morning we joined them for mass and then sprung the news. Their good friend, and the deacon, was able to officiate the vow renewal, and we were all there as witnesses, as were a few church friends who know and love Mama and Papa as much as we do. Does it surprise anyone that they new their vows, even after all these years.
To keep the fun going we had a party planned back at Bejos brother's farmhouse with more friends, and a few hundred mosquitos too.

School has started
A full week of school ended successfully for these Bejos boys last week. A few tears from the little one but smiles and enthusiasm from the biggest boy.
And in even bigger news...the little one started walking! or at least taking a few tentative steps across the room. It is not yet his sole mode of transportation, but he is on his way.

Weatherford Trail
On the trail with the Bejos boys has taught us to adjust our expectations. Mileage doesn't happen but the trail conversations are hysterical and nonstop.
Did you know there are tigers and mountain lions all over this mountain?
What if an animal died all these trees but was so fast that I was the only one who could catch him?
Did you see that footprint?
I just fell, but I'm OK.
Is your doggie nice?
on, and on, and on....

Pre preschool
Guess who started school today?!
No tears upon drop off today, but I'm not sure Mr. Bejos will be quite so lucky tomorrow, since Bejos boy might remember that dad isn't staying. Wish him luck!
