On writing: Sharks

January 17, 2014
This is the shark; that's the turtle.
The shark is going to splash up.
The clouds will cover him up. He
eats big jars of fish. 18 thousand
million fish. The turtle sinks down.

It's the 18 thousand million that gets me every time. It is currently the BIGGEST number he can imagine, and it is used about 18 thousand million times a day.

On my needles

Sometimes I get the urge, the need, to knit. I've had this project in my mental queue since being pregnant with the little one, yet I never got around to casting it on. Last weekend I decided I had to start a project, right then, and dug around for yarn that would fit the project (and the practicality of a newborn garment). Even as I casted on I knew it wasn't knitting up right. It was just too big, but I couldn't stop, and found myself with an 80% completed project that fit baby bejos after all. Except that it was wrong all over. Too big in the sleeves, awkward length, the wrong color for a crawler.....the list goes on and on. With a deep breath I tore it all out, a term I have recently come to learn has a name; frogging.
Ribbit, ribbit
As in "rip it, rip it" out.
This second time around I think it's going much better. You'll find out if it ends up on an off my needles post.

This big kid got some new school gear.
To say that he is excited about it is an understatement.

Good morning

The early shift is not my favorite, but I do enjoy the sights.

One last vacation outing

We couldn't stay away from the warmer weather, so we made one final trip before bidding our holiday break a final farewell. For living so close to Slide Rock State Park we had never been before, too put off by the hordes who swarm the place in warm swimming weather. Little did we know of the orchards, old buildings, and antique farm equipment display, in addition to, the red rock stream bed.

Although sunny, we were still bundled in down, and only let our fingers swim through the chilly water.

This last photo kills me. As you can tell by the reflection in my glasses, I was trying to get a shot of mr. Bejos and baby when I inadvertently took a selfie.

9 months

This precious little guy is now 9 months old!
Still army crawling,
Still loves power cords,
Still with two teeth,
Still the best at finding the smallest things left on the floor.
Not quite stable when sitting up,
Fast as can be,
Shakes his head "no,no", making for hours of entertainment when the oldest bejos boy asks a question and we try to pass it by the baby first. "Can brother have another treat?", "no,no,no?"

The lastest favorite move of mine is his rest/dance (?) position. He'll stop mid crawl, get on his knees, drop his head to the ground and wiggle his butt.

Is it just me or does this pic resemble sister bejos as a baby?
