On my needles

Sometimes I get the urge, the need, to knit. I've had this project in my mental queue since being pregnant with the little one, yet I never got around to casting it on. Last weekend I decided I had to start a project, right then, and dug around for yarn that would fit the project (and the practicality of a newborn garment). Even as I casted on I knew it wasn't knitting up right. It was just too big, but I couldn't stop, and found myself with an 80% completed project that fit baby bejos after all. Except that it was wrong all over. Too big in the sleeves, awkward length, the wrong color for a crawler.....the list goes on and on. With a deep breath I tore it all out, a term I have recently come to learn has a name; frogging.
Ribbit, ribbit
As in "rip it, rip it" out.
This second time around I think it's going much better. You'll find out if it ends up on an off my needles post.

This big kid got some new school gear.
To say that he is excited about it is an understatement.

Good morning

The early shift is not my favorite, but I do enjoy the sights.

One last vacation outing

We couldn't stay away from the warmer weather, so we made one final trip before bidding our holiday break a final farewell. For living so close to Slide Rock State Park we had never been before, too put off by the hordes who swarm the place in warm swimming weather. Little did we know of the orchards, old buildings, and antique farm equipment display, in addition to, the red rock stream bed.

Although sunny, we were still bundled in down, and only let our fingers swim through the chilly water.

This last photo kills me. As you can tell by the reflection in my glasses, I was trying to get a shot of mr. Bejos and baby when I inadvertently took a selfie.

9 months

This precious little guy is now 9 months old!
Still army crawling,
Still loves power cords,
Still with two teeth,
Still the best at finding the smallest things left on the floor.
Not quite stable when sitting up,
Fast as can be,
Shakes his head "no,no", making for hours of entertainment when the oldest bejos boy asks a question and we try to pass it by the baby first. "Can brother have another treat?", "no,no,no?"

The lastest favorite move of mine is his rest/dance (?) position. He'll stop mid crawl, get on his knees, drop his head to the ground and wiggle his butt.

Is it just me or does this pic resemble sister bejos as a baby?

Goodbye 2013

2013 was a good year for us.
The arrival of baby bejos was definitely the highlight.
When I wrote Christmas cards this year I even had the audacity to call it uneventful! It was only after the fact that Mr. Bejos and I started to recall the ways in which it was eventful. There was the loss of Cooper, four trips to the ER (including our first broken bone!), a few medical scares but eventual triumphs within our extended families, finally getting to our house painting project (have I still not gotten pictures up about that VERY long and still incomplete project??), a few opportunities to travel, mr bejos' epic battle with a human bite wound, bejos boy's hair issues, mr bejos & bejos boy's solo adventure to NY....and more that I know I must be leaving out.

All in all 2013 was good to us, and we are thankful for so much, including our friends and family who make our days brighter.

Here is a glimpse of the last few weeks in Casa Bejos. Even with our winter ick we managed a few smiles and memory making moments.

Happy New Year!
See you in 2014
xoxo
